HOW IT ALL
STARTED

This advocacy started out as what we can only imagine, a dream perhaps. We are long-time childhood friends. Ever since we were young, we have only drawn on a piece of paper how our adoption center. We have always loved dogs, the sheltered ones or not, and this began after that one moment of our lives.

 

Back when we were in preschool, we used to travel from school to home and back as he and I were also from the same neighborhood. At that one certain afternoon mid-school year, we went on a different route going home. There were more children on the street that we took, more vendors, and more houses too. We passed along this gorgeous house at that one corner lot. It got a three-story scale and a large backyard. As we walked by and turned to the street to the left, we saw a stray barking loudly. It got all sorts of dirt and grime on its fur. We both got curious and searched for what is going on. We saw another dog peeking through the gate who can’t breathe properly. Us, not knowing if the stray was violent or not, we called for others to help and alarmed the homeowners about the situation. We rang the doorbell and fortunately, they got there not long before the dog turned unconscious. In that moment, we learned how much we cared about them and soon after we found ourselves starting this movement. We started to gain more volunteers from our own community advocating this very thing that we are also speaking out to you.
